Eminent Supervisor Awards

Since its inception in 2001, the Dr. K. V. Rao Scientific Society has been committed to recognising and nurturing young scientific talent through its annual Research Awards for scholars below the age of 30. Over the years, these awards have grown into a platform of prestige, attracting nominations from senior scientists across leading research institutions in India. Many of their students have excelled, resenting high-quality research and earning recognition as KVRSS awardees.

Behind every successful young researcher stands a dedicated mentor. Research supervisors are the guiding force who shape ideas, instil scientific rigor, and inspire their students to strive for excellence. Their teams, built on collaboration and vision, form the backbone of path-breaking research. The success of students at the Society’s competitions is therefore also a reflection of the supervisors’ unwavering commitment to advancing science and high quality of research.

To honour this invaluable role, the Society instituted the Eminent Supervisor Award. This recognition is conferred upon distinguished scientists whose research groups have consistently produced outstanding work, with multiple students winning the KVRSS Research Awards over the years. It is a tribute not only to their personal excellence but also to their mentorship, leadership, and enduring contribution to India’s scientific community.

The Eminent Supervisor Award stands as a celebration of the senior scientists who, through their scholarship and guidance, continue to inspire the next generation of innovators and leaders in science and uphold the spirit of research in India.

The award has been presented to the following eminent scientists till date:
