KVRSS Mobile Science Lab: Taking Science to Every Student’s Doorstep

The KVRSS Mobile Science Lab (MSL) is a groundbreaking initiative, delivering hands-on science education directly to schools and communities across Telangana. This mobile laboratory is specially designed to bridge the gap in science education and make learning accessible, engaging, and enjoyable for students in classes 7 to 10.

Funded by the Lalitha Varanasi Fund (USA) and launched on April 6, 2022, by Mrs. Sabitha Indra Reddy, Honourable Minister of Education, Telangana, MSL is a fully functional science lab on wheels, equipped with interactive Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and Mathematics models, demonstration kits, and a state-of-the-art audio-visual system. From basic concepts to advanced theories, this mobile lab brings alive the magic of science through models, demonstrations, and hands-on experiments aligned with NCERT and State syllabus.

For schools with limited or no lab facilities, the MSL offers an invaluable resource, making it possible for students to experience science in a vivid, practical way. There is a need for active and participative science education and MSL fills this gap, giving students a unique “classroom on wheels” experience where they can experiment, explore, and develop a love for science through active learning.

As it travels across Hyderabad, the MSL reaches various schools, ensuring that every student has the opportunity to delve into the wonders of science. Sessions are meticulously planned to be interactive and hands-on, led by experienced science mentors who bring concepts to life with clarity and enthusiasm. The audio-visual facility on board features curated videos that not only explain scientific theories but also showcase their real-world applications, helping students to see how science is integral to everyday life.

The KVRSS Mobile Science Lab is a powerful tool of empowerment, designed to foster curiosity, creativity, and scientific spirit among young minds. Schools and students interested in this resource are encouraged to reach out, as KVRSS strives to reach every curious student, every school from the districts of Hyderabad, Medchal and Ranga Reddy. This mobile lab is not just a vehicle; it’s a beacon of science, spreading knowledge, inspiring innovation, and kindling the spark of discovery in every child it reaches.

The Mobile Science Lab caters to students classes 7 to 10 from schools registered with Directorate of School Education. Since the starting the operation of Mobile Science Lab, KVRSS has been able to address 25 Schools and about 8000 students till date. Apart from schools, MSL also conducts demonstrations at various residential apartments, communities and institutions, solely or as a collaborative event.
